Don’t
be duped by the literalists who claim their way of reading the Bible is the
only way. Literal readings of the biblical text are not the historical norm and
have never, until recently, been considered the standard.

I have been away from a computer for 4 days, so this is why such a late reply. Even in scripture, it is the literalists who miss the point: Nicodemus, the Samaritan woman at the well, the disciples.
