One of the most lamentable traits of some ever so
faithful Christians is that they have a habit of ripping the biblical text out
of context and quoting a verse here and another there to support their case for
various forms of baptism, communion, prayer, and whatever else they claim to
have absolute truth about. Trusting themselves and their interpretations, they
assume, is a virtue, but without a due place for suspicion concerning their own
points of view, I’d wager it’s much more likely a detriment.
