Friday Musings - June 10

We see myriads of churches today that have gone the way of the institution and become spiritually dubious. “Christian” is institutional; a lukewarm religious definition too often characterized by an indifferent “me-spirituality” that seems far from engaging with people and their real issues and problems. Christians can be, and it must be said with tears, primarily interested in propagating their programs, building their buildings, even manipulating some of their own, in order to achieve social status and accomplish their goals and aims. In desperately striving for the authentic, they have never been so captured by that which is inauthentic. As a result, a mass exodus is taking place. People have had enough and are coming out. There is a renewed searching for love and truth, and the quest for spiritual survival is currently underway.
