Reflection for the Week - January 18

We all have blended lenses through which we see ourselves, others, God, and the world. Visions of the past, present and future have a jarring impact and frequently leave us caught in-between. Being left within this ‘discordant’ time warp is akin to looking at and into split frames. What we ‘see’ then is of a ‘fragmented’ character, which means we’ll need other resources, notably the biblical and natural world narrative informers, to assist us in seeing, though never seamlessly, in a more holistic and ‘concordant,’ manner. That is, having a better way of ‘seeing’ is not merely a matter of re-adjusting our focus, but of somehow learning ‘to be’ in ‘contact’ with the Divine One.
