Reflection for the Week - June 1

While the biblical text informer remains a source of truth, there is a lot of truth to be found outside the Bible, notably in the natural world informer. When we have to consider what nature seems to be telling us and then work out the implications for our theological views, we’re on the right track. Pictures of God developed from the biblical text alone, will be impoverished, as would surely be the case if they were developed from nature alone. Our search is for truth wherever it can be found. So, if there is a truth discovered in nature that questions a biblical interpretation, we have to be willing to modify previous views of the text or even put them aside all together.
