Living Spiritual Rhythms–February 5

Christians often want to model their lives on famous biblical characters. “God did it that way for Sarah, Abraham, and Paul, so that’s how I expect him to work in my life.” There may be differing degrees of overlap with some of these people, but for the most part this will be smaller, rather than larger. While God is faithful to his promise to be active in our lives and the world, out of hundreds of thousands of people, there was only one Sarah, Abraham, and Paul. Follow Christ and trust God. Don’t assume that because God did something in another’s context, he’s obliged to do it in yours.
