The ZigZag Café - July 12

We will be convening here at the ZigZag café, Suisse, on Thursdays for conversation and dialogue. I invite you to stop by every Thursday for the question of the day. Your thoughts and participation are most welcome. Pull up a stool, avec un café, un thé, ou un chocolat chaud, et un croissant, and join in here on Thursday at the ZZ café.

For today:

Would you agree that there are no facts – true statements about reality – only interpretations?

I would say that there are true facts, but they are always filtered through interpretations, whether your own or those of others. And interpretations can be more or less accurate to the original truth.

John,
Thanks. This is a good way of formulating it. There were a couple of responses over on my FB page too. I said something like, in contrast to just the facts or there are no facts, only interpretations, we have interpreted facts, thus, the subject - knower is connected to facticity.
