Feelings are so important, though they are not decisive when it comes to knowledge. In order to assess whether feelings are trustworthy or deceptive, it is crucial that they be in dialogue with the rest of who we are, including reason and sense observation, so that we have a more holistic perspective. We should not stop, however, at an interpersonal dialogue, as we are obliged to interact with the other, the world, and the biblical text, if we are to have our feelings and the whole of our lives refigured, and to begin to know in the light of being known.

Gefühle sind sehr wichtig, aber sie sind nicht entscheidend/maßgebend, wenn es um Wissen geht. Um zu beurteilen, ob Gefühle vertrauenswürdig oder irreführend sind, ist es essentiell, dass die Gefühle im Dialog mit dem Rest unseres Seins sind, einschließlich der Vernunft und dem Beobachtungssinn, so dass wir eine ganzheitliche Perspektive haben. Wir sollten aber nicht beim innermenschlichen Dialog aufhören, da wir verpflichtet sind, mit den anderen, der Welt und dem biblischen Text zu interagieren, wenn unsere Gefühle und unser ganzes Leben umgestaltet werden soll und wir anfangen sollen/wollen zu wissen angesichts der Tatsache gekannt zu sein.
