The ZigZag Café

We will be convening here at the ZigZag café, Suisse, on Thursdays for conversation and dialogue. I invite you to stop by every Thursday for the question of the day. Your thoughts and participation are most welcome. Pull up a stool, avec un café, un thé, ou un chocolat chaud, et un croissant, and join in here on Thursday at the ZZ café.

For today:

Some people say the United States is God’s nation. What’s your view?

So is Angola, Mexico, NK, and the French territory.

Palestine is not, cause it is not technically a country yet. But, maybe someday soon.

Everyone thinks he is special, right?

Can someone give the scriptural evidence?

I think Joshua's post is a good caricature of the presented comical point of view...

Joshua,
Thanks. I'm sure many who believe you're in the promised land would disagree with you, but in these times that disagreement, even for them, may be losing force. National parodies and lampoons may be fitting to help bring people their senses.

Lukas,
Thanks. Yes, nationalism seems to be growing at alarming rates, but Scriptural evidence for supporting such an attitude is hard to come by.

I used to wonder if America was God's country, but I'm not convinced anymore at all. In some parts, like the Bible Belt, Christianity seems so alive and people seem to care. In other places, it's dead and dying.

I think God is present in America, but seems to be removing His hand to an extent.

John,
Thanks for your thoughts. There seems to be a real mixture over your way and this makes it difficult to have an accurate reading.
